Stepping
into the New Year |
|
The parties are
over, the chaos is over and it's full speed ahead as we step
into 2004. We enter the New Year with hope as we continue our
pursuit of personal and professional
fulfillment.
While
preparing for my radio show this week, I became aware that I
am more fulfilled personally and professionally than any other
time in my life. My past is over, my confusion and pain is
over, and now I can live and truly enjoy the fruits of my
labor. I have been seeking for twenty years and only in the
last five, when I became an entrepreneur, did all the pieces
start to come together. And even then it's only recently that
I can see clearly what my gifts are and how to use them in
this world. Bit by bit, I became more and more committed to
myself. These last five years have required a tremendous about
of work. It required all of me - every ounce of my being has
been revamped and rewired to work in unison. Below are the
highlights of my journey to
fulfillment:
- Taking risks and
being uncomfortable a lot
- Being gentle
with myself along the way
- Learning to be
willing versus willful
- Venturing and
living in the unknown
- Trusting more
than I wanted to
- Giving it my all
- no matter what
- Knowing that I'd
be okay, no matter what (took me 5 years to learn this
one)
- Trusting in God
and having faith beyond words
- Learning to be
patient with myself and the process
- Believing in
miracles - they happen everyday
- Trusting passion
and letting go of fear
- Knowing that
money was not my source
- Believing in
myself
- Changing my
thinking - letting go of fears, doubts and worry and
replacing these thoughts with trust and confidence.
It's been
a long journey and in many ways, it's only just begun. It's a
great time of the year to review our progress, see how far
we've come and re-commit to our future.
What has it
taken to get to where you are? What will it take to get to
where you want to be? Renew your commitment to yourself and
make 2004 the best year ever. |

What Others Are
Saying About This Book:
"No matter how
successful you were in corporate
America,
you know nothing about becoming an entrepreneur. I know
because I was the President/CEO of four companies before I
became an entrepreneur. I could have used this book."
Sigmund Goodwin Vice-President The
Radcliff Company
"How I wished
that I had had this precious and practical tool to help me in
my escape from Corporate America! After 15 years in "Fortune
50" Corporations I was convinced that the "crossing" was not
possible. Practical advice such as "what to do until the money
flows" would have greatly eased the transition for me.
Negative corporate management's reinforcement about the "big
bad world" and not realizing that it didn't have to be an all
or nothing transition delayed my ultimately successful escape
by years. This book will be an entrepreneurial
bible."
