Connecting
To Your Passion |
|
I am so inspired
by a woman who has recently connected with her passion that I
decided to write this month's article about passion and
dedicate today's radio to it as well. Passion can get us
through just about anything. I truly believe that and have
experienced it personally and professionally. When we begin
doing what we love, even if it is just baby steps at first, a
shift takes place and life starts falling into place. It might
feel scary because we are entering new territory - doing
things we haven't done before and experiencing life in a new
way. Deepak Chopra, author of The Seven Spiritual Laws of
Success says that when we experience uncertainty, we are on
the right path, so don't give up. I had to repeat that saying
over and over for many years until I believed it and got
comfortable with uncertainty.
Henry David
Thoreau once said, "Things don't change, we change." So unless
we start taking action, nothing will change. The passion that
we are seeking in our life comes through action. Action allows
us to grow beyond our fears.
Anna Faustini, one
of the guests on today's radio show is taking action. Anna
will share her story of struggling as a single mother with
fears and insecurities but being compelled to follow her
passion. Anna wanted to open a home for pregnant teenagers but
didn't see how she could possibly do that, struggling to earn
enough money to support herself and her family. Despite her
thoughts that said it couldn't be done, that she couldn't
raise the money, that it seemed like an impossible task, Anna
wrote a letter to the editor that was published in three
newspapers. The action Anna took has generated donations of
goods and services that are making her dream a reality. Tune
